The Insects-"Free The Hard Way"

At the forefront of the Arizona Hip Hop movement stands The Insects, armed with words for weapons and ready to bring the soundtrack for a musical revolution. As members of the six-piece Arizona super-group Drunken Immortals, Brad B and Foundation have hand crafted their debut album "Free the Hard Way" for the people. Refreshing isn't it...When was the last time you heard a record that was at all concerned with communication, and not a rapper's ego. A message that you could relate to! "Free the Hard Way" is the highly anticipated follow-up to last year's "Drifter" CD. The Insects clearly define what we so desperately lack in music these days, creativity... and the ability to take risks to make dope music. "Free The Hard Way" is produced entirely by Foundation, who if you don't know by now, you should do the math because he is a monster! You may have heard him recently hold down tracks for Abstract Rude, Grayskul, Jawa and more. As a triple threat-DJ, Producer, and Drummer, he definitely snores in four-four when he's not busy crushing shit! Foundation's cuts are precise and inventive on tracks like "Devils are Scared". Album anthems include the lead single "The People", and hard-hitting tracks like "Silence is Gold" where Brad B proclaims fundamental, yet indispensable messages that are so often forgotten today like "living for beauty and resistance". Another gem not to overlook is the final song on the record, "Ank", where the group enlists the vocal talent of Ms. Camille Messina, who's delicate woven tapestry of words plays an immaculate accompaniment to the jazzy waltz-driven banger. On their path to non-conformity, The Insects have developed a gritty, unique style that recently attracted the ear of friend an L.A. Hip Hop heavyweight, 2MEX, who they just toured Europe with in support of the release. The concept for "Free the Hard Way" is an experimental idea The Insects shared with Arizona Hip Hop staple Universatile Music (UM) to release and independently distribute the album for FREE. Proof positive that the crew will have to hustle to be heard, which hasn't been a problem so far-most recently sharing stages with Sage Francis and Talib Kweli and quickly making a name for their crew and their Arizona Hip Hop community.

The kind folks here at Universatile Music are giving you this project as a gift. If you enjoy it, all we are asking is that you please support our efforts by spreading the word far and wide. We are all very dedicated and are working hard to be heard, but we can't do that without you, the people! Thanks for listening.
